What 42Math is for
42Math is a free collection of interactive mathematics, computing, and science lessons for students, teachers, engineers, and curious people. A formula becomes more useful when you can change its inputs, watch the result move, and see where an approximation stops working. The project connects equations to diagrams, simulations, worked examples, and real scientific contexts.
There is no required curriculum or account. The catalog is deliberately a cabinet of curiosities: orbital mechanics can sit beside cryptography, statistics, biology, signal processing, and classical geometry because the same underlying mathematics keeps reappearing in different forms.
Why the name 42?
In Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, 42 is the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything. The joke fits this project: receiving an answer is only the beginning. Understanding the question, the model, and the limits of the result is where learning happens.
Role
The project currently publishes under the 42Math name. Its creator is responsible for selecting topics, implementing interactive behavior, writing and editing explanations, checking examples, maintaining the site, and responding to reported errors.
Approach
The work starts from a simple idea: technical subjects become easier to understand when visitors can manipulate a model and immediately connect the output to the underlying equation. Tools are designed to make assumptions and intermediate relationships visible, not to hide them behind a single answer button.
Relevant references, numerical comparisons, boundary cases, and independent calculations are used during review. The amount of documentation varies with the complexity and risk of the topic, and existing pages are revised as gaps are found.

The maintainer holds a Master of Science in Information Technology from the Faculty of Physics and Chemistry at the University of Tartu, Estonia, together with more than 20 years of professional software-development experience.
