Privacy policy
This policy explains what information is processed when you use 42math.com, why it is processed, and what choices you have.
Who is responsible
42Math is an independent project. The operator of 42Math is responsible for the first-party processing described here. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to 42math.com@gmail.com.
No account or calculation database
42Math does not require an account. The site has no general application backend that stores your calculator inputs or a profile of your work. Most calculations run in your browser. A small number of tools may request public data from an external service; when this happens, the requested symbol, query, or dataset identifier is sent to that service so the tool can respond.
Information stored in your browser
42Math uses browser local storage for convenience features, including:
- Your light or dark theme preference.
- A short list of recently visited tool identifiers.
- A local page-load counter used to vary a brand animation.
This information stays in your browser unless your browser synchronizes storage across devices. It is not sent to a 42Math account. You can remove it by clearing site data for 42math.com. See the cookie and local-storage policy.
Google Analytics
42Math uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage and improve navigation and content. Google may process information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from an IP address, device and browser information, referral source, interaction events, and identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies.
Analytics data is processed under Google's terms and privacy practices. You can learn more at Google Privacy Policy and Google Analytics privacy information. Google also provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Google AdSense
42Math uses or intends to use Google AdSense to fund the site. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, local storage, IP addresses, device information, ad-interaction data, and browsing information to deliver, limit, personalize, and measure advertising, subject to your region and consent choices.
Google explains its advertising data use at How Google uses information for advertising. You can manage personalization at Google Ad Settings.
Hosting and security logs
The hosting and network providers that deliver 42math.com may process standard request information such as IP address, date and time, requested URL, response status, browser information, and security signals. This is used to deliver the site, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and protect the service.
Email and correspondence
If you email 42Math, the message, address, and information you choose to include are processed to answer the request, investigate a report, maintain a record of a correction, or meet a legal obligation. Email is handled through Gmail and is therefore also subject to Google's service and privacy terms. Do not send sensitive personal information that is not needed for your request.
External services and links
Some pages link to external references, videos, datasets, or services. Following a link or using a feature that explicitly requests third-party data can allow that provider to receive your request and apply its own privacy policy. 42Math does not control independent third-party sites.
Purposes and legal bases
Depending on your location, processing is based on consent where required for analytics, personalized advertising, or similar storage; legitimate interests in operating, securing, measuring, and improving the site where permitted; steps taken in response to a request you send; and compliance with legal obligations. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.
Retention
Local-storage data remains until you clear it or the site replaces it. Correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, document a correction, protect the site, or meet legal requirements. Google and hosting providers set their own retention periods under their policies and account settings.
International processing
Google, hosting, network, and email providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their terms describe the safeguards used for international transfers where applicable.
Your choices and rights
- Clear cookies and local storage in your browser.
- Block or limit cookies through browser settings.
- Use Google Ad Settings and the Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Use any consent controls presented on the site to change optional choices.
- Contact 42Math to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection where applicable law provides those rights.
- Complain to your local data-protection authority if you believe your rights have been infringed.
Children
42Math is a general educational site and does not knowingly ask children to create accounts or submit personal data. If you believe a child has sent personal information through email, contact 42Math so the situation can be reviewed.
Policy changes
This policy may be updated when site features, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published.
