This challenge shows you one of three fingerprints of a nation — its outline, its flag, or its capital — and asks you to name it. Each mode trains a different skill: visual shape memory, flag-design literacy, and factual recall. A handy rule for the capital rounds: a capital is chosen for politics or geography, not population, so the biggest or most famous city is often a trap — Canberra over Sydney, Brasília over Rio, Washington over New York.

The score that catches gerrymanders 🖖

The tidy compactness number behind the silhouette rounds is the Polsby–Popper test, and it was born to police democracy, not to rank geography. Legal scholars proposed it in 1991 to expose gerrymandered voting districts: a very low value betrays a suspiciously wiggly, hand-drawn boundary. So the same arithmetic that calls Chile's outline 'stretched' can flag an electoral map as 'rigged-looking' — using nothing but area and perimeter.
